※ Only single candidate may be successfully recruited in each subject area, and of nineteen subject areas, only fifteen candidates will be finally admitted in the fifteen subject areas above.

※ Please keep in mind that the number of openings above is equally open for both Korean as well as foreign candidates.

II.    Eligibility Criteria
A.    Basic Qualifications
1)    All applicants must be able to lecture in English.
* From two or three semesters after employment, the successful applicant must open at least one course in English per semester, and this condition will be stipulated in the contract.
2)    No applicant shall have reason to be disqualified as a government employee under the provisions of The Public Employee Act, Clause 4 of Article 10.
3)    Applicants should have 4 years or more teaching and research experience based on the ‘Regulations on the GNU Professor’s Qualification Examination’. (including Master’s and Ph.D. course period)
 * Actual course period will be only recognized, up to two years for Master’s and three years for Ph.D.
B.    Educational Requirements: applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field (the degree must be in hand by the date of application):
■Applicants for the Department of Music Education can apply with a Master’s or equivalent degree.
* “Doctoral (Master’s) Degree Holder” means that an applicant must have a degree in hand by the application deadline, i.e., any ABD applicants who have defended their dissertations but not received their degrees are not eligible for hiring.
C.    Research Requirements
 Legitimate Percentage of Research Result Points According to Number of Authors: single author 100%; 2 authors 70%; 3 authors 50%; 4 authors or more 30%; The first author or the corresponding author 80%. If there are multiple first or corresponding authors, the first author whose name is placed ahead of others will be recognized; and the corresponding author whose name is place at the end will be recognized. Exceptionally, a corresponding author whose name is not located at the end may be recognized if he/she can prove their responsibility as the corresponding author.
1)    Application for Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts and Physical Education must have publications adding up to 200 percent (including two publications as a first author) for the past 3 years (May 16, 2012~May 15, 2015) in SCI, SCIE, A&HCI, SSCI, SCOPUS, or the National Research Foundation of Korea nominated to be published.
2)    Applicants for Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine must have publications adding up to 200 percent for the past 3years (May 16, 2012~May 15, 2015) in SCI.
3)    The following are exceptions:
■    Applicants for the Division of Life Science must have publications adding up to 200 percent (including two publications as a first author) in SCI; and acquire IF 5.0 (as of 2013 JCR) from two publications.
■    Applicants for the Division of Architectural, Urban and Civil must have publications adding up to 200 percent in SCI or SCIE (including two publications as a first author).
■    Applicants for the Department of Electrical Engineering must have publications adding up to 200 percent in SCI or SCIE (including two publications as a first author).
■    Applicants for the Department of Mathematics Education must have publications adding up to 200 percent in SCI or SCIE (including two publications as a first author).
■    Applicants for the Department of Music Education must have compositions adding up to 200 percent within last three years.
■    Applicants for the Department of Nursing must have publications adding up to 200 percent in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, or the National Research Foundation of Korea (including two publications as a first author).
4)    Research accomplishments for Screening(excluding research nominated to be published)
■    Research accomplishments in an applied subject area must be written in a form and content of publications.
■    Proof of publication (authors, title, source, publisher, and ISSN) must be written on the List of Research Publication (GNU application format) and attached on copies or original publication.
* One of the following documents can be used as an alternative to the above:
- Proof from a publisher’s website (must be printed in color);
- Notarized copies from national or public libraries.
■    Dates for publication, presentation or registration of all research publications to be screened must be within the last three years (May 16, 2012~May 15, 2015).
■    A publication released on a website must be accompanied by a hard copy and state its volume number, page count, and publication date. (If there is difference between the publication date of the hard copy and the date of web publication, the applicant can choose the date between them).
■    Any publication released on a website without a hard copy must state its volume number, page count, and publication date. [A printout of the relevant page from http://ip-science.thomsonreuters.co.kr for SCI publications or http://www.nrf.re.kr/ for publications in the National Research Foundation of Korea (including research nominated to be published) must be submitted].
■    If the research was published as a book, the entire book shall be submitted.
D.    Other Eligibility by Subject Area
1)    Applicants for Department of Medicine (Foot & Ankle) must hold a license as a medicine doctor.
2)    In Nursing, those who have two years of clinical experience.
3)    Applicants for the Department of Industrial Management should state one of the following study areas in the application : human resources and marketing, finance and accounting, and production.

VI.    Application Submission

A.    Applicants should apply in person or through a representative (Submission by mail is acceptable).
     ■      Submissions by mail must be made to the Office of Academic Affairs from May 12 through May 15, 2015, 17:00 local time in the Republic of Korea.
B.    Documents submitted must contain the applicant’s signature.
C.    Work certificates in Korea (all experience stated on the list of teaching and research experience).
1)    All certificates submitted must be original (if this is not possible, a copy is acceptable but the original must be submitted later).
2)    Work certificates for experience as a part-time lecturer, or as an invited or adjunct professor, and other part-time teaching experience must specifically state weekly class hours and work period.
3)    If selected candidates have work experience other than those stated above, they must submit relevant documents proving that it was a full-time paid occupation of eight hours or more per day, regular position, responsibility, etc.
D.    Certification written in foreign languages (i.e. degree, work certificates):
■    Research or teaching assistant certificates from foreign universities
- Work certificates must be issued by the president of the relevant university (specifying position held, period of employment, salary, etc.).
- If work certificates issued by the president are not available, work certificates by authorized representatives can be submitted as an alternative (specifying position held, job description, period of employment, salary, etc.).
E.    Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed via phone or e-mail at each stage of the selection process.

VII.    Important Notes

A.    Employment contracts must be approved by the university faculty personnel committee, after reviewing the candidates’ selected publications and background checks (assistant professor – 4 years; associate professor – 6 years; professor – 3 years). Annual salary and pay increases will be decided by “Performance-based Payment Regulation.”
     -    The expected employment date will be September 1, 2015, but the date is subject to change according to individual departments.
B.    Approval regarding double major and minor of an undergraduate program will be decided by the Specialization Judging Committee.
C.    Positions may not be filled if there are no qualified candidates.
D.    If an unqualified applicant has been accepted or hired based on false information given in the application form or falsification of supporting documents, the acceptance or hiring will be revoked.
E.    Any matters not specified above will be handled according to university regulations.
F.    An applicant will take full responsibility caused by any missing documents.
